We always strive to achieve a comfortable, homelike environment, but in the Preschool room, a true classroom environment is introduced. Your child will continue to learn independence and responsibility in their learning experiences through classroom jobs and accountability for classroom rules. Center rotations, group, and individual learning opportunities will be given. A schedule is set at the beginning of the school year and will be followed throughout the year. Your child will still eat and nap at designated times.
The Preschool program follows the Horizons Curriculum through Alpha and Omega Publishing. This is an advanced curriculum used by many Christian schools. This program will heavily promote language, literacy, math and other skills they will need to be successful in school.
Your child will graduate to the Pre-K room at the beginning of the summer program if they will turn 4 by September 1. They will transition to the Pre-K room at the beginning of fall if they will turn 4 by December 31. If your child turns 4 after December 31, they will remain in the 3 year old room until the summer program begins. You will be notified when your child is scheduled to transition and will be given and opportunity to meet your child's new teacher and tour the classroom.
