In the Toddler classroom, we strive to create a comfortable, consistent environment that will prepare them for the Prepper and Preschool programs. They will take one designated nap each day and eat together as a group. Potty training will begin in the Toddler room and parent support is expected. They are introduced to a set "circle time" and will learn all of the fundamental skills they need to participate in a scheduled classroom environment. Social skills are a large part of our Toddler class. They will be learning to share, play together, and cooperate as a group.
The Toddler curriculum (Pinnacle from the Childcare Education Institute) introduces "centers" into their learning. They will have designated learning areas that include dramatic play, blocks, science, art, language/literacy, puzzles, and more. They will participate in "circle time" and projects that focus on the weekly themes. They will also have an opportunity each day to learn through sensory play, art, music, and nature experiences.
Your child will graduate to the Prepper classroom when they turn 2 years old. They will begin the transition by visiting the Prepper room in short periods a few weeks prior to the graduation date. You will be notified when this transition begins and will have the opportunity to meet your child's new teacher and learn about the classroom.
**Promotions to next room is always based on child's development and space availability
